PASSPORT PHOTOS
Quality Passport photos in Ames while you wait! Typically, any time we are open your passport photo can be taken. If you are traveling to get to Ames to take your passport photo, please call to make sure there is someone available to take your photo. There may be an rare circumstance where there isn't a photographer available part of a day, or all day, due to illness or other absence.
No appointment is necessary except for babies/children that can't sit up on their own. To get an appointment, please email with a couple times you’re available and we will get back to you asap to schedule your passport photo.
We take your photos for US passports, Foreign Passports, Lotteries, Visas, Social Media profiles, etc. Best quality in Ames, Iowa! Even the local post office recommends us. Canada even recommends us on their website!
Visit us in downtown Ames and you can get your passport photo, visa photo, lottery photo, etc. taken — most will be ready in about 10-15 minutes! Make sure to get to the shop no later than 15 minutes before close. No appointment necessary unless you are not able to sit up on your own (generally babies & small kids). We take passport photos for US passports (US citizens) and international (persons with non-US citizenship) passports with various size requirements. Make sure to bring your country’s photo requirements to ensure we have the right info to ensure your passport photo is accepted. We take your photo against the standard white background. If you need a different background, please email and we can see if we can accommodate you. Babies and children welcome, just please email ahead if your baby or child can't sit up on their own to make an appointment since this requires additional staff. Let us know a few times/days that work for you and we will do our best to help you.

Additional Set of 2 Photos OR a Digital File (after the first set or digital copy is purchased at full cost) of your sized Passport Photo:

In Ames, you can apply for your passport at the Ames post office on Kellogg Ave in downtown Ames. If you only need to renew your passport, you may be eligible to renew online and mail in your renewal request. For both new passports and renewal passports, you must submit two photographs with your application.
